Composition based on the painting by A.A. Rylova "House with a red roof

At the dacha of acquaintances, in the village of Kryukovo near Moscow, the artist saw a landscape that he liked so much that he made many sketches and sketches, trying to capture the peace and tranquility that reigned in this corner of the Moscow region.

Central Russian landscape. Artists who made the glory of Russian art willingly turned to him - Shishkin, Grabar, and many others.
In 1933, the artist Rylov A.A. also turned to this landscape. At the dacha of acquaintances, in the village of Kryukovo near Moscow, the artist saw a picture that he liked so much that he made many sketches and sketches, trying to capture the peace and tranquility that reigned in this corner of the Moscow region. Of course, he could not even think that only nine more years would pass and the iron skating rink of war would pass through these places, destroying both people and houses, regardless of the color of the roof. Did he survive, this house that delighted the artist? Are the majestic birches, mast pines and spruces left? We don't know. But in the picture there will always be a girl collecting mowed grass, summer clouds will forever set off the blue, apparently July summer, pines and spruces will still rise, the symbol of Russia - the birch will still stand.
The artist chose a very winning plot for the show.
The house with a red roof forms the basis of the composition. There is a front garden with flowers in front of the house, and a young girl is raking the mowed grass with a wooden rake. The dog is looking with interest somewhere into the distance, to where a mixed forest rises. Perhaps somewhere out there, outside the picture, it will be a dense forest, but we see only a few trees and flowering bushes at its edge. What kind of bushes these are - the distance does not allow us to determine their appearance, but something in the form of brushes says that this is an ordinary privet, which today is willingly planted near the house, for the sake of white flower clusters with a honey smell.
The central place in the picture belongs to the birch. Its two trunks rise, barely fitting in the frame of the picture, and in front of them is some kind of tree, possibly a fruit tree.
Behind it you can see a path that goes deep into the forest, along which it is so pleasant to walk on a summer evening.
A one-story house with a red roof is all buried in the greenery of small trees, and spreading crowns of large trees are visible behind it. It can be seen that the house was built with love for nature, everything around it is well-groomed and blooms. Only a few yellow leaves on a birch remind us of the coming autumn, when the same birch will flare up with golden leaves and the mushroom season will come.
The whole landscape breathes peace and tranquility. It is a pity that there are few such wonderful places left in the Moscow region.

In 1888, after graduating from school in Vyatka, he came to St. Petersburg and, on the advice of his relatives, entered the Central School of Technical Drawing of Baron A.L. Stieglitz, where he studied until 1891, studied with the famous artist and teacher K.Ya. Kryzhitsky (). In parallel, A.A. Rylov studied at the Drawing School at the Society for the Encouragement of Arts. In the midst of hard work, Rylov was unexpectedly drafted into the army. After serving his term, he returned to St. Petersburg. In 1893 A.A. Rylov entered the St. Petersburg Imperial Academy of Arts, and a year later he was invited to his studio by A.I. Kuindzhi, whose training has long been the cherished dream of a young artist. Rylov in the full sense of the word can be considered a student and follower of Kuindzhi. He experienced the strongest influence not only of creativity, but also of the personality of his mentor. Kuindzhi was a born enthusiastic teacher, selflessly loved his work. He constantly took care of his pupils, financially helped poor students, at his own expense took them to the Crimea for summer practice and even abroad. Rylov forever retained his attachment to romantically elevated, holistic images, lighting effects, and a decorative understanding of color, but at the same time he strictly followed the teacher’s precept to work as much as possible on nature.

The level of professional performance of the paintings of the first stage of Rylov's work is evidenced by the fact that for the painting "From the Banks of the Vyatka" at the Munich exhibition he received a nominal gold medal. A.A. participated. Rylov and in the famous exhibition of 1901 in Moscow, where the largest associations of artists of that time were presented. In 1902 he was invited to the prestigious Vienna Secession, and since 1908 he became a regular participant in exhibitions of the Union of Russian Artists under the direction of A. Vasnetsov.

Before me is a painting by the famous landscape painter Arkady Rylov. He worked during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. All his works are distinguished by bright and rich colors, peace and pastoral mood. In his works, the master showed the beauty of Russian nature, the original moments of different seasons. This work, written in the late period of his work, in 1933, in the Moscow region, was no exception.

We see a hot summer afternoon, everything is flooded with sunlight. The house, which stands out with a bright red iron or tiled roof, seemed to hide from the heat in the green thickets. Its white walls and chimneys evoke thoughts of coolness and cleanliness, home comfort. But the central place on the canvas is occupied by a tall birch, a symbol of Russian nature.

She is a real beauty, stands out with a white trunk, different from the rest of the trees, as if contrasting with the dark thicket of the pine forest, which begins at the path. Flowering bushes decorate the edge, do not allow the mysterious darkness of the forest to get out.

The house is surrounded by garden trees and bushes that hide a cozy courtyard from prying eyes. And in front of the viewer, at the very edge of the picture, there is a recently mowed meadow. A young woman or girl turns over hay with a wooden rake, a little white dog plays next to her. The simple white clothes of the girl emphasize that the day is very hot. Lush clouds do not give a shadow, decorating the bright blue, bottomless July sky. Soon a haystack will appear in the meadow, an indispensable attribute of rural landscapes.

The picture, despite the simplicity of the plot, is beautiful and creates a good mood. From every detail emanates calmness and tranquility. I really want to get there, feel the coolness of the grass with my bare feet, or the hot earth of a village path, breathe in the aroma of dried grass. A spreading birch beckons with its shadow, and my beloved grandmother lives in the house, bakes ruddy pies, and is waiting for me. It is here that you can relax from the bustle of the city, forget about all the worries.

The artist very realistically displayed a positive attitude, measured leisurely rural life. Bright, sunny colors invigorate and charge with a wonderful mood. The heart becomes comfortable and calm.

Arkady Rylov tried to convey to us his love for the Motherland, for its beautiful nature and ordinary people, the very mood of village life. He saw romance in simple things familiar from childhood, and this simplicity is beautiful. Indeed, for happiness, you don’t need much at all, a peaceful sky and a home in which close and dear people live.

The painting was painted by the artist under the impression of a trip to old friends who lived in the Moscow region, not far from the Kryukovo station. It all started with sketches, then the idea of the painting itself matured. Rylov literally fell in love with a simple landscape, and wanted to perpetuate the ordinary miracle he saw. Everything that is depicted is literally saturated with love. I just want to exclaim - this is my homeland!

The painting "House with a Red Roof" was painted in 1933 in the Moscow region. Once in the summer, in the morning, on a suburban train, he went to the Kryukovo station to see old acquaintances. There is a house, the roof of which is presented to us in red, young birch trees are blooming around. The reservoir depicted on the canvas represents a single kingdom with different popularity: green frogs basked in the sun, black snails basked and caressed each other, leeches burrowed into the silt near the shore.

Just above the water, light dragonflies fluttered, rustling their wings. A meadow was built in front of the building. Goats grazed there, a huge snow-white rooster walked with chickens, a peasant mowed the grass. The artist painted sketches with pleasure, without leaving the dacha with paints and an easel. He found different compositions: the same space, depending on the time of day, lighting and angle of view, was presented in different ways. As a result, a wonderful head "House with a red roof" was born. On it is a modest Central Russian landscape, from which emanates calmness, tenderness and warmth.

This picture is saturated with love, for a moment it seemed to me that we live in this very village, and our house also has a red roof. Involuntarily, I wanted to run to my house to tell some interesting story, to let my friends listen, or maybe just to walk around the village. Very realistic in his landscape, the artist allows us to feel the whole mood of village life. Not only to be there, but also to visit other places unknown to our imagination.
